Coach or psychologist? 06-12-2018
First of all, to guide you: all the tools we use in coaching, and the motivation techniques come from Psychology.
There are two key points to differentiate them: If you feel good and want to improve, you want to define your goal, and then have tools to achieve them, or you need support to define what you want, some motivation and guidance, then a coach would be ideal. It seeks training in certain skills of the person to achieve his goal. However, the psychologist also applies in this case.
On the contrary, if you see that an emotional discomfort makes you not perform the same in your work, that you have problems in your relationships and/or that your physical health is affected in some sense, it is a good time to decide to go to a psychologist. Working with the psychologist takes you to know yourself more, and this will support you in solving the problems you are facing. Remember that it is the psychologist who is trained to work on the patient's behavior and mental processes.
