Zelided Ruiz de Melgen
Psychologist specialized in the emotional and behavioral management of children, adolescents, adults, and families, with over 25 years of experience in both clinical and educational settings.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in School Psychology from the Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU). She also earned a Master’s degree in Systems Intervention in Family Therapy from the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC), with a dual degree from the University of Leuven.
Her therapeutic approach is deeply grounded in Systemic Family Therapy, through which she understands the individual within their relational context. She conceives the family as an interconnected system, where each member both influences and is influenced by others, and where processes of change are constructed collaboratively.
Due to her family background, she has worked in the child and adolescent field since the beginning of her career, actively integrating parents and the family system as a central component of the therapeutic process.
