Ruben Aybar
He graduated with a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology and Health Therapy from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid in Spain and holds a degree in Clinical Psychology from Universidad Iberoamericana in the DR.
From 2009-2017 he worked with the New York Mets as a mental skills consultant and mental performance coach creating and overseeing mental skills workshops for team affiliates and carrying out individual consultations with players, coaches and staff. From 2018-2019 he was the Mets Mental Skills Coordinator.
From 2019-2023 he worked in various roles with the Miami Marlins, including two seasons as their Major League mental skills coach.
In 2024 he served as the Major League Mental Health coordinator for the Seattle Mariners.
He has served as professor of psychology at the Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE) since 2006 and teaches courses on Clinical Psychology, General Psychology, Social Psychology, Human Relations, Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Sport Psychology, as well as Master’s level courses.
He was worked as a clinical psychologist in private practice treating patients overcoming issues such as depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and trauma in the DR since 2007 and has consulted for teams in Major League Baseball (MLB), the National Football League (NFL) and the Liga Dominicana de Futbol (LDF - Dominican Soccer League).
