Adults and Older Adults
Adults and Older Adult
His practice focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mental health
conditions, adapting evaluations and interventions to the specific needs of each age group.
For adults, priority is given to managing conditions such as depression, anxiety, psychotic or
personality disorders within the context of their active work, family, and social lives. For older
adults, emphasis is placed on a comprehensive geriatric assessment that considers the
interplay between chronic medical illnesses, polypharmacy, cognitive impairment (e.g.,
dementia), geriatric syndromes (delirium, falls), psychosocial factors (grief, isolation), and
neurobiological changes inherent to aging. The goal is to preserve functionality, autonomy,
and quality of life through adjusted pharmacological therapies (accounting for metabolism
and risks) and tailored psychosocial strategies.
He completed postgraduate studies in Psychogeriatrics at the Instituto Superior de
Formación de Postgrado (ISFP) in collaboration with the Argentine Psychiatric Association
(APSA) and the Canadian Academy of Geriatric Psychiatry (CAGP).
